Blue Ridge Community College maintains an extensive lineup of technical programs designed to build a quality pipeline of candidates for your business. The college offers career training in a variety of sectors including automotive technology, engineering technology, machining technology, business administration, nursing and many other career fields. Businesses making qualifying investments in new technology and creating new jobs may be eligible for customized training funds to help train existing and new employees on new processes, equipment, and technologies.

  • NCWorks Customized Training: Provides education, training and support services for new and expanding business and industry in North Carolina. This tool utilizes a network of 58 community colleges, serving all 100 counties of the state. The goal of the program is to foster and support three key aspects of your company’s well-being: job growth, technology investment, productivity enhancement.

Brevard College is a private liberal arts college located in downtown Brevard, NC that provides an excellent source of young talent. Current enrollment at the college totals 729 students, a record breaking student population for the institution. In addition to an innovative liberal arts curriculum the school offers majors, minors and concentrations in business & organizational leadership, science and advanced mathematics.

Western Carolina University features an enrollment of over 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students. WCU programs span more than 110 undergraduate specialties and 30 graduate programs. In addition to employment recruitment opportunities the faculty and students are available to partner with area businesses on meaningful research and technology development initiatives.

  • WCU Center for Rapid Product Realization: A university-based product development center that helps clients refine existing products, develop new ones and improve business practices. Industry experienced faculty and staff work with business partners to address their specific needs and to remove obstacles to product commercialization and process improvement

  • Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC): housed within the College of Business the SBTDC works with area businesses on strategic growth initiatives. Provides management counseling and educational services to small and mid-sized businesses. Most services are free of charge, and all are confidential.

Mountain Area Workforce Development Board is a partnership of private business executives and the leading workforce development organizations in Buncombe, Henderson, Madison and Transylvania counties. The organizations is capable of bringing resources to private companies that enhance recruitment, training, and employee retention.

NCWorks Online provides a variety of services for job seekers and employers. For assistance in identifying candidates’ employers are encouraged to use the statewide online job posting tool to streamline the employment process and identify viable candidates to fill available positons.
