Incentives

Transylvania County, the City of Brevard, and the State of NC are committed to the long-range economic well-being of its citizens. The community’s interest is to maintain an on-going progressive plan to enhance and secure job opportunities while also sustaining its existing economic health and prosperity. Based on these values the community has established a tax incentive policy to help guide public investments in economic development projects.

The economic development program addresses this mission through allocation of County resources, as the Commission deems necessary, to respond to proposals from new or existing manufacturing, processing, warehousing, distribution, headquarters, alternative energy or data processing enterprises. These new or expanding industries will add new job opportunities and promote a better quality of life in addition to sustaining the integrity of the community, broadening the tax base, and generating growth and development.
